British Fashion for Topshop..
I've just been looking on the Topshop website when I came across their Made In Britain collection.. I'm definitely all about supporting products that are made here. Especially with Britain having such a unique history with regards to the cotton trade and the industrial revolution. It's something that has dwindled away over the years, as most clothing manufacturers have moved abroad because it is cheaper to make and distrute goods overseas. When you do look into the history of the industrial revolution, it is quite sad that it's still not here anymore. It brought so many jobs to thousands of people and many seamstresses today will tell you that being able to sew is a dying skill; when most women in the 50's and 60's could easily put a dress together.
The new collection at Topshop has some really lovely pieces and are surprisingly not too expensive. I think it's a great idea, especially in the current financial climate, to support British companies and their products.
Here are a few of my favourite pieces but you can view the full collection here at Topshop Made In Britain Collection
